Des Moines Adds Low Fare Tracking Service to its Website
DES MOINES – May 29 - “Despite high fuel costs, central Iowans can find good deals out of Des Moines International (DSM),” states DSM Aviation Director Craig Smith.
DSM Airport officials have agreed to let Airfarewatchdog (an Expedia company) track fares out of DSM and report low fare opportunities. Air Service Manager Roy Criss explains, “Travelers need to be flexible to take advantage of the fares, but there are some great deals to be had. People have asked for this for a long time. We never had the resources to track all the fares. Now, Airfarewatchdog does it for us.” The service is free to the airport. Advertisers on the connecting pages pay for the service. Several airports and newspapers throughout the nation use the service.
The “Ticker” is on the front page of the Airport’s Web site at www.dsmairport.com. Fares scroll by the window. When you see a fare and destination you like, just click on it. You will be sent to a page with details about the flight and directions for booking.
