
About JumpStart
Airports Council International-North America’s (ACI-NA) JumpStart® Air Service Development Program was launched in 1997 by ACI-NA members as a forum to improve the communication process in the air service arena between airports and airlines. The program has grown significantly from its inception 11 years ago, when 10 airlines and 26 airports kicked-off the inaugural program.
In 2007, JumpStart connected 42 airline route planners from 37 airlines with 145 airport marketing professionals at almost 800 one-on-one meetings. The “round-robin” meeting format provided both airport and airline participants with the unique opportunity to build and strengthen relationships that enable air travel networks to expand across North America. JumpStart recently welcomed Mexico's Mexicana and AeroMexico to JumpStart, generating even greater opportunity for participants to develop new service across the border.
How does JumpStart work?
Airports request a private, 20-minute meeting with up to ten airlines. ACI-NA schedules airports with those airlines that request meetings. On the evening prior to the program, ACI-NA hosts an ice breaker reception for all JumpStart participants where all airports are given an opportunity to interact with those airlines that they will not be meeting with during the actual event.
JumpStart concludes the annual ACI-NA Marketing & Communications Committee Conference, the second largest of all of ACI-NA's conferences with over 350 delegates. More than 75 percent of the meeting registrants also participate in the JumpStart program.

Why Should Airlines Attend JumpStart?
ACI-NA is preparing for its 2008 JumpStart® Air Service Development Program. JumpStart is the premier airport-to-airline networking program with 11years of success. It uniquely matches air service to communities in an environment that is well-organized and takes airline preferences into consideration.
The program will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at the Hilton Pittsburgh Hotel. As our attendance continues to grow year-after-year, we once again anticipate a record number of airport and airline attendees joining us in Pittsburgh. We are counting on your participation to make this year’s program a success.
Airlines benefit significantly by connecting with several markets in a single, very busy day. Many airlines staff two to three booths (draped for complete privacy in meetings with airports) for concurrent meetings due to strong demand. This allows them to be responsive to airports interested in the airline product while maximizing your time. If an airline wishes to meet with certain airports, suggest that the airport participate in the conference. Airlines maintain full control of the schedule.

As an additional benefit, we cordially invite you to join the host airport event, which will be held at PNC Stadium in downtown Pittsburgh on Tuesday, June 24. This evening happens to be the home opener of the Yankee - Pirates series. The Yankees have not played baseball in Pittsburgh since the 1960 World Series, making this a big event for the entire city. If you would like to attend and want an additional ticket for a guest, please let us know early. Also, let us know how many people from your airline will be coming and if they need a guest ticket. Through the ACI-NA Marketing and Communications Committee, the airports themselves developed JumpStart; and are direct stakeholders in the program, unlike other conferences. This affordable program is managed and operated by ACI-NA, a not-for-profit organization.
By signing up for JumpStart, airports have the opportunity to meet with a variety of airlines all in one day. Airports provide their top ten choices of airlines to ACI-NA and are matched up with those airlines interested in meeting with them.
