Washington Should Grant Airports Economic Freedom

The White House and Congress have been engaged in an ongoing battle over the economy, jobs and the deficit.  Everyone appears to agree that we need to get the economy back on its feet, get people back to work (24% of the twitters to #askObama at yesterday’s Twitter Town Hall were about jobs) and move forward with a solid plan for reducing the deficit.   There is also general agreement that we need to invest in infrastructure.  In fact, the president noted yesterday in response to a question at the town hall meeting that we faced $2 trillion in infrastructure needs.

ACI-NA’s Greg Principato today sent letters to the White House and the House and Senate bipartisan leadership suggesting that one way to create jobs, address the infrastructure crisis and help with the deficit would be to give airports economic freedom.
