US/ Korea Implement Reciprocal Trusted Traveler Programs

On June 12, DHS Secretary Napolitano, CBP Acting Commissioner Aquilar and Republic of Korea Justice Minister Kwon jointly announced a reciprocal agreement for each nation’s trusted traveler programs---Global Entry and Smart Entry Service--- Washington Dulles International Airport.  This means that citizens of South Korea may apply for Global Entry and, if approved, can use those kiosks and that US citizens may apply for Korea’s Smart Entry Service and, if approved, use those e-gates.

Korea will be the third country, in addition to Canada and the Netherlands, to have a fully reciprocal, publicly available trusted traveler program with the United States and the first such program that the US has in Asia.
