Topics Sought for 2012 ACRP Research

The Transportation Research Board's Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) is currently seeking research problem statements for FY2012. ACRP funds applied research with the aim of providing near-term solutions to issues faced by airports.  The ACRP undertakes research and other technical activities in a variety of airport-related areas, including operations, design, construction, engineering, maintenance, human resources, administration, policy, planning, environment, safety, and security

A list of projects already underway is available on the ACRP website athttp://www.trb.org/CRP/ACRP/ACRPProjects.asp.  Final published ACRP reports can be viewed at http://www.trb.org/Publications/PubsACRPPublications.aspx.

Problem statements may be submitted by anyone, but we welcome input and submittal through ACI-NA, which can garner additional weight with the ACRP Oversight Committee (AOC).  Submittals are due March 4, 2011.  More detailed information from ACRP, including the outline for research topic problem statements, is available on the ACI-NA website. Submittals consist of a simple 1-3 page description of the suggested research. The AOC will meet in July to select FY2012 research projects.
