South Koreans to Use Global Entry

The U.S. and South Korea last week agreed to integrate their trusted-traveler programs – Global Entry and Korea Immigration Smart System.  This is the first time that Global Entry has been expanded to air passengers in an Asian country.

The joint statement on April 21 describes a program between the United States and the Republic of Korea and establishes a mutual set of standards that their citizens must meet in order to be considered as low risk.  Pre-approved travelers would use automated kiosks upon arrival at select international airports in the United States and the Republic of Korea.

No timeframe was released as to when the joint program would be up and running.
