Now Accepting Nominations for the 2018 Environmental Achievement Awards!

The 2018 ACI-NA Environmental Achievement Awards nomination period is now open!  We will be accepting submissions of projects until Friday, December 8, 2017.  The Environmental Achievement Awards are a great way to showcase your airport’s environmental and sustainability projects and successes.  Winners will be invited to present the details of their projects at the Airports@Work Conference in New Orleans, LA from March 12 - 15, 2018.

A panel of four judges (representatives from FAA, Transport Canada, industry and media) will review all the projects and select four winners in the following categories:

• Environmental Management
• Mitigation
• Outreach, Education and Community Involvement
• Special / Innovative Projects

Entries will be judged based on environmental benefit, innovation, effective implementation, widespread applicability, and cost effectiveness. Airports do not need to select a specific award category for their projects.  Airports may submit more than one project, but each project needs its own application form and materials.

In 2014, the ACI-NA Environmental Affairs Committee launched a new category within the Environmental Achievement Awards that recognizes an individual for outstanding contributions to the Committee. Winners of the “Peer Recognition for Outstanding Individual Contribution and Leadership” Award are nominated by their peers within the Committee and confirmed by Committee Leadership. The annual award will provide a special member “thank you” and encourage continued contribution to ACI-NA and the aviation industry.
