FAA Seeks Comments on PFC Competition Plans Information Collection

Executive Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has published a notice in the Federal Register seeking public comments on the periodic information collection activity required by Title 49, Sections 40117 (k) and 47106 (f), governing the issuance of Passenger Facility Charges (PFC) or grants under the Airport Improvement Program (AIP). This notice is published in order to renew the FAA’s authority to collect information including the Competition Plans, which is required every three (3) years.

Who is impacted: Large and medium hub airports subject to (or potentially subject to) competition plans as a result of PFC collection activity. 

Needed airport action: Airports are asked to provide the FAA with any comments about the information collection process including, but not limited to: (a) whether the proposed collection of information is necessary for FAA’s performance; (b) the accuracy of the estimated burden; (c) ways for FAA to enhance the quality, utility and clarity of the information collection; (d) ways that the burden could be minimized without reducing the quality of the collected information.
