DOT Soliciting Proposals for Small Community Air Service Development Program.

The Department of Transportation issued a notice of order soliciting proposals for community grants under the Small Community Air Service Development Program(SCASD).

The Small Community Air Service Development Program was established under the Wendell H. Ford Aviation Investment and Reform Act for the 21st Century (AIR-21) and reauthorized under the Vision 100-Century of Aviation Reauthorization Act.  The program is designed to provide financial assistance to small communities to help them enhance their air service.  The DOT provides assistance in the form of financial grants that are disbursed on a reimbursement basis.  Under the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, the DOT received up to $14 million to carry out SCASD grants.

Project applications, as well as the Federal Domestic Assistance form (SF424), should be submitted to the DOT no later than June 11, 2012.
