ACI-NA Small Airports Committee Meeting Notice: September 7, 2014

The 2014 ACI-NA Annual Conference and Exhibition is quickly approaching.

In conjunction with this year’s conference, the ACI-NA Small Airports Committee will meet on Sunday, September 7 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Georgia World Congress Center (Room A404) in downtown Atlanta, GA.

To assist both ACI-NA and AAAE’s Legislative Affairs efforts, the primary purpose of the Committee meeting will be to discuss and identify small and non-hub airport priorities and ideas as it relates to the upcoming FAA Reauthorization legislation in 2015.  Both organizations are already in agreement on a number of FAA reauthorization issues-including increasing the Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) to $8.50 and indexing it for inflation. However, we need your help and are specifically soliciting examples of a small airport project(s) that cannot move forward without an increase to the PFC. We’re hoping to use these example projects as a base of our discussion and ask that you provide us this information in advance of our September 7th meeting in Atlanta.

The agenda will also cover importantly timely discussions related to current regional airline operations and impacts on small and non-hub airports; new regulations affecting airports including FAA’s Proposed Policy on Non-Aeronautical Use of Airport Hangars and EPA’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on ‘Waters of the United States’ under the Clean Water Act; the latest news on Capitol Hill; updates pertaining to airport security, operations/technical affairs and legal affairs; the 2015 Small Airports/JumpStart Air Service Conference; Committee administrative issues; follow-up discussion from the June 23 meeting in Edmonton; as well as an open roundtable discussion.

Please note this meeting is open to all ACI-NA member airports and associates.
