ACI-NA Comments on Proposed Waters of the U.S. Rule

ACI-NA, through the Environmental Committee’s Water Quality Working Group, submitted comments November 14 on the Environmental Protection Agency and Army Corps of Engineer’s proposed rule that would greatly expand the number and types of waterways and water bodies subject to Clean Water Act regulation which could impact airports and greatly increase cost and administrative burden to comply.  “The aviation industry is one of the most progressive and innovative sectors of our nation’s economy,” the comments stated.  “The industry has established an outstanding record of reducing the environmental impacts of its operations, through innovative and responsible actions to reduce adverse impacts to our nation’s waters.  As an industry, we are concerned that the sweeping changes in the Proposed Rule would significantly impact, and place unreasonable burdens upon us.”  See the full comments here.
