ACI-NA / AAAE Summer Legislative Conference

OVERVIEW

Many aviation issues continue to be in play before Congress. In addition to completing FAA Reauthorization and addressing environmental issues, funding for the Airport Improvement Program, 100 percent employee screening, DHS Authorization, TSA and CBP staffing, as well as funding for in-line installation of explosive detection equipment are topics currently under discussion on Capitol Hill.  In addition, with the impending election of a new administration, transition efforts are underway at agencies such as DHS, TSA, and FAA.  The 2008 ACI-NA/AAAE Summer Legislative Conference will provide attendees with critical information on these topics and more so that you will not only be prepared for Congressional meetings, but also, for what may be coming up in the future from a legislative and political perspective.

ACI-NA and AAAE staff will also be on hand to strategize with attendees on how to best move forward on the aviation agenda in Congress and provide an important legislative update.


Tuesday afternoon of the conference will be left open for attendees to meet with their congressional delegation to discuss airport priorities and advocate for airport needs in Washington.

Conference Hotel:
All educational sessions will take place at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel.  Please call The Mandarin Oriental directly at 1-202-554-8588 to make room reservations. Be sure to identify yourself as being with the ACI-NA/AAAE Summer Legislative Issues Conference to receive the special rate of $239 single/double occupancy. 

The hotel cut off date to make reservations at The Mandarin Oriental with the group rate is Friday, June 20, 2008 by 5:00 PM EST. Reservations made after this date and time can only be accepted on a space- & rate-available basis.

Please be advised that the hotel may sell out of rooms or the conference rate before the cut off date. Make your reservations early!
