Overview

This annual conference brings together airport management and concession professionals to examine the trends and best practices in airport retail planning, goal setting, and key operational and management issues.


The conference will start with a welcome reception on Monday evening, November 10. Conference programming will run all day Tuesday, November 11 and Wednesday, November 12. The Toronto Pearson airport story and tour will be offered on Thursday, November 13. In addition, the 2008 ACI-NA Griesbach Excellence in Airport Concession Contest Awards Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, November 11.

Got Passport?

Requirements for American citizens entering Canada: U.S. citizens and permanent residents require a birth certificate, a resident alien card or a green card together with picture I.D. or passport to enter Canada. A driver's license is NOT accepted as proof of citizenship.

Requirements for American citizens re-entering the U.S.: Currently, Canadian and American citizens only need a birth certificate and a photo ID (such as a driver's license) to cross back into the USA. However, a new U.S. law has been introduced requiring passports for entering the U.S. via air effective January 23, 2007, and via land and sea borders as of January 1, 2008. Travelers are advised to stay informed of U.S. passport regulations.

 

Requirements for International visitors entering Canada:

Persons visiting from countries other than the United States must have a valid passport and may require other documentation such as visas. Check with the nearest Canadian Consulate well in advance of travel. For more information, please visit www.cic.gc.ca.     

  • ENTERING/DEPARTING CANADA FOR U.S. CITIZENS
    U.S. Citizens entering/departing Canada are required to present a valid U.S. Passport. If you do not have a U.S. Passport or your current Passport will expire, visit http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html for further information.
  • ENTERING/DEPARTING CANADA FOR NON U.S. CITIZENS
    Please check with the Canadian Embassy/Consulate or foreign ministry in your country of citizenship.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship opportunities are officially open as of Monday, March 17, 2008.  For a four-week period of time, until Monday, April 14, 2008, ACI-NA Members can express their interest in a specific sponsorship opportunity.  If more than one company is interested in the same event or item, the sponsor will be selected by lottery and notified by Tuesday, April 15, 2008.

After Monday, April 14, 2008, all remaining sponsorships will open to ACI-NA Members on a first-come, first-served basis, and will be awarded by date and time stamp on an e-mail or fax.

After Friday, August 29, 2008, any remaining sponsorships will be made available to non-members.

Conference Hotel:

All educational sessions will take place at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.  Please call the Fairmont Royal York directly at (800) 663-7229 to make room reservations. Be sure to identify yourself as being with the ACI-NA Airport Concessions Conference to receive the special rate of $219 CDN single/double occupancy(approximatey $218 US).

The hotel cut off date to make reservations at The Fairmont Royal York with the group rate is Monday, October 20, 2008. Reservations made after this date and time can only be accepted on a space- & rate-available basis.

Please be advised that the hotel may sell out of rooms or the conference rate before the cut off date. Make your reservations early!
