Operations and Technical Affairs Committee Projects
This Committee's work plan is still under development; please check back soon.
Technology
Technologies to accommodate for the critical and necessary components to the aviation system are currently being developed for security and identification of passengers and employees, airport navigation devices, perimeter control and security, wireless and other communication mechanisms, and a host of other issues that will enhance airport safety, security, operations and administration.
ACI-NA continues to work with the FAA, TSA, and NASA as well as our industry partners to develop and implement technology to enhance airports.
Capacity
Many ACI-NA member airports are engaged in runway construction and terminal improvement projects to increase airport capacity and, subsequently, allow airports to accommodate for the current and future demand of commercial passenger and cargo air transportation.
ACI-NA continues to work with members of Congress and the FAA to increase PFC and AIP funding in order to accommodate for the necessary expansion projects. In addition, the organization continues to work with Congress, EPA and FAA to streamline processes while supporting adequate staffing for the environmental review process.
