Upcoming Meetings

January 26 & 27, 2010 – The BIT Committee will again be holding a virtual winter steering group meeting.  The meeting is scheduled for for two hours each day, January 26 & 27, starting at 1:00 PM EST (12:00 PM CST, 11:00 AM MST, 10:00 AM PST).  As with the past two virtual meetings, the sessions will take place via ACI-NA's Webex service.  Meeting access information will be sent out via e-mail to the committee membership.  If you are interested in joining the BIT Committee please contact Matt Griffin (mgriffin@aci-na.org).

Past Meetings

October 10-11, 2009 - The BIT Committee held a two-day meeting prior to the start of ACI-NA's 18th Annual Conference.  The entire event took place in Austin, TX.  The committee hosted sessions on passenger self-tagging of baggage & common bag drop, an architect's perspective on passenger processing, the affects of common use on costs to both airlines and airports, and updates on the Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPS) initiative and IATA's Fast Travel & Simplifying the Business programs.  Additionally the committee hosted Dr. Martin Smith, Director of Group Technology & Innovations for The Manchester Airport Group Plc, for afternoon discussion.  Led by the Committee's leadership, John Payne and William Flowers, this strong agenda attracted nearly a hundred people for several of the sessions.

 

April 6-8, 2009 - The BIT Committee hosted the three-day Business Information Technology Conference in Seattle, WA.  The conference featured a strong agenda on a variety of information technology issues including PCI compliance, business intelligence, and updates on the progress of the Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPS) and Aviation Information Data Exchange (AIDX) standards as well as the efforts of the BIT Committee’s Working Groups. The committee also hosted several airport CFO’s for a roundtable that featured discussions on a number of finance/IT related issues.

 

September 20-21, 2008 - The BIT Committee met for two days prior to the ACI World/ ACI-NA Conference & Exhibition in Boston, MA.  A number of topics were discussed including Green IT, Airport Dashboards, Public Safety and IT, and Web assisted conferencing.  Additionally the committee was pleased to welcome Kees Jans, CIO of the Schiphol Group and Chairman of the ACI World Airport Information Technology Standing Committee, for a two hour presentation on the IT issues that airports are facing in Europe.  On the final day the committee held a business meeting and elected three new associate members to the Steering Group as well as a new Vice Chair.

 

April 28-30, 2008 The Business Information Technology Committee hosted the 2008 Business Information Technology Conference in Denver, CO.  The conference featured a number of great speakers speaking on some IT hot topics.  This conference was also the first to feature podcasts of several of the sessions.  Please click the link below for these podcasts as well as conference presentations.
