ACI and ICAO Congratulate First AMPAP Graduates
ACI and ICAO are proud to announce that 12 individuals from six countries have attained accreditation as International Airport Professionals (IAP's) under the joint Airport Management Professional Accreditation Program (AMPAP).
A further six candidates from four countries are expected to complete their final coursework in time for the graduation ceremony at the ACI World/North America Conference and Exhibition in Boston September 22, 2008. These 18 managers represent airport companies in all five geographic regions of ACI.
They attained their accreditation in just 14 months since ACI and ICAO launched the program: this represents a commendable achievement in that six courses are required for graduation. Some 120 airport executives from 38 countries are currently enrolled in AMPAP.
Commenting on this milestone, ACI Director General Angela Gittens said: "These individuals are the pioneers in AMPAP, the only international accreditation program for airport managers. I am impressed by their full commitment to improve their career skills as demonstrated by completing a challenging array of courses in just over a year.
This remarkable achievement should encourage other candidates in the program to pursue completion and move rapidly toward earning the IAP designation, the global hallmark of excellence in airport management."
