The June issue of ACI-NA’s quarterly magazine, Centerlines, delves into the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to explain how the stimulus package is helping to revitalize airports and their communities in a variety of ways.
As of March 25, statistics from the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airports Financial Assistance Office state that 206 out of 360 infrastructure projects have been substantially completed, fixing runways, resurfacing taxiways, and constructing lighting schemes.
Overall, about $614 million, around 55 percent of total funds, have already been disbursed. According to the FAA, as of May 7, $1.097 billion, or 99.7 percent of the $1.1 billion in airport grants have been obligated.
