ACI World announced the top performing airports in the ACI Airport Service Quality (ASQ) passenger survey last week. The survey produced remarkable results for North American airports, with 11 of 20 awards in four worldwide categories:
- Four of the top five awards (including Halifax Stanfield International Airport for first place) in the category “under 5 million passengers”;
- Two of the top five in the category “5 to 15 million passengers”;
- Two of the top five (including Baltimore-Washington International Airport for first place) in the category “15 to 25 million passengers”;
- Three of the top five in the category “over 40 million passengers”.
“ACI-NA is particularly encouraged by the results this year,” said ACI-NA President Greg Principato. “We have seen many airlines react to the difficult economic environment by cutting back on routes, staff and customer service. Airports, on the other hand, are increasingly focused on ensuring a pleasant and efficient travel experience by investing in methods to improve the passenger experience.”
