Join the Legal Affairs Committee in a thought-provoking session on land-use planning and zoning issues. Helen Raabe of the Denver Airport Authority and Bret Lobner of the San Diego Airport Authority will serve as the moderators. Ben Guttery, of the FAA’s Texas Airports Development Office in Ft. Worth Texas, will provide an overview of the FAA’s role in these issues and examples of projects in which he is currently involved.
Panelists Bret Lobner and Richard Simon, esq., will provide examples of some of the issues involved at California and Phoenix airports. Al Jimmerson of the Huntsville International Airport and Gigi Rechel of Tampa International Airport, will discuss the interplay of federal, state and local laws, giving specific reference to what has happened in their areas with respect to their airport expansion programs.
Richard Simon will also discuss evolving zoning trends in this area based on current expansion plans for Houston International Airport, and is addressing the impact of recent court cases like Sisolak, on the process.
