Facilitation Working GroupThe Facilitation Working Group addresses issues related to international passenger and cargo inspection and facilitation programs and regulations. The main issues covered are: the role of airports in border security, federal agency staffing and hours of operation, the collection and use of international passenger user fees, passenger and cargo inspection regulations and procedures, airport facility requirements, and customer services.

 

The group develops strategies to enhance the security and efficiency of the international arrivals process, advocates on behalf of airports with U.S. federal agencies, responds to regulatory changes, and prepares guidance on the implementation of rules and regulations, as well as facility development.

 

The group works with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security including U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the US-VISIT Program Office. The group also maintains good relations with the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of State; including the Bureau of Consular Affairs, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
