Annie Russo

Director, Government Affairs.
 

Annie Russo joined ACI-NA as Director, Government Affairs in April 2008.  In this role, she monitors congressional actions and works with congressional staff involving a variety of different areas that impact the aviation industry including transportation appropriations and environmental policies.

In her seven years on Capitol Hill, Russo worked for three members of Congress serving in a variety of legislative positions.  Most recently, she served as Legislative Director for Rep. Albio Sires (D-N.J.).  In this role, Russo directed legislative policy for the congressman as well as handled his Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and Financial Services Committee assignments.  In addition, she also kept the congressman's constituents updated by producing various press-related communications including a weekly e-newsletter.

Prior to joining Rep. Sires’ staff, she served as Senior Legislative Assistant to Rep. Steven Rothman (D-N.J.).  In this position, she assisted Rep. Rothman with his work on the Transportation Subcommittee of Appropriations and worked closely with local airports on issues surrounding safety, noise reduction and airspace redesign.  Russo spent her first three years on Capitol Hill working for Rep. John Olver (D-Mass.),who represents her hometown of South Deerfield, Mass.

Russo has her master’s degree in National Security Studies from the Naval War College and holds a bachelor’s degree in Government and Public Policy from Smith College.
